Retcraction and Correction
The International Journal of Sexual Science is committed to preserving the integrity of published research. In cases where the reliability of a publication is seriously compromised, article retraction procedures are implemented.
An article may be retracted if it is found to be unreliable due to a significant error (such as miscalculation or experimental mistake) or the use of unethical practices, including falsified data or misleading manipulation. Retraction is also applicable in cases of conflicts of interest, plagiarism, findings published without proper citation, or copyright violations involving any materials or data.
When retraction is necessary, specific steps are taken to minimize any harmful effects, adhering to princi-ples of transparency and impartiality. A clear retraction notice will be issued, including the article’s title, au-thors, and the reasons for retraction. This notice will be freely accessible to all readers.
In cases where the main findings remain reliable and the interpretation or results of the study are unaffected, retraction may not be appropriate, and corrections may suffice. Requests for corrections should be promptly submitted to the publisher or editorial office upon identification of any issues. Such requests will be carefully reviewed by the editor or editorial board, ensuring the validity of the core findings is maintained. The correction will provide a link to the current Digital Object Identifier (DOI) number.
In all cases, the Editor will follow the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines for retraction and correction, ensuring that the decision is made transparently and in accordance with best practices.
